Dear Mr. Adelman,
With reference to your job posting on [website.com] under section [‘Careers at’], I would like to apply for the Data Scientist position at [Organization X]. My reason for applying for this job is that it allows me to expand my predictive analytics and behavior analysis capabilities. Therefore, I want you to consider this application for the Data Scientist position in your department.
To shortly introduce myself, my name is [Rick Connor] and I heard about your organization during the Deep Learning Event in Toronto. I had the pleasure of speaking with [Name Surname] and he indicated that [Organization X] needs help transforming clients’ data into tangible business value. I am thrilled about the prospect of analyzing information, communicating outcomes and to collaborate with your department on product development. In addition, working with statistical programming languages listed in the job description happens to be exactly the same experience that I seek for my career path.
During my 5+ years of employment at [Company Y], I worked extensively with Java and Python and statistical programming languages such as: SAS, SPSS and Matlab. For example, last year I built a script that aggregated data from multiple databases and improved user productivity during data analysis by an average of 35%. For these results, I received recognition. Furthermore, I was praised by management for my abilities to debug, troubleshoot and implement solutions to complex technical issues (see references).
I welcome the opportunity to learn more about the Data Scientist position and demonstrate my qualifications. If you want to see some of the projects that I work on in my spare time, see my Github profile: [github.com/profile], or take a look at my portfolio website: [myportfolio.com]. I have included my resume for your review. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Rick Connor
